They found that pornography shaped the ways that adolescents view gender, power, and intimacy.While porn can be a valuable tool for adolescent boys and girls, it can also be a compulsive activity. It can teach them to dominate in bed, eat a lot of meat, and use a variety of sexual positions.Porn literacy classes are now offered in public high schools and parochial schools in Boston. These five-week classes focus on sexuality, consent, relationships, and body images.Porn literacy classes are a part of the Start Strong peer leadership program for teens. It is funded by the public health agency in Boston, and it is available at competitive exam schools in the South End of the city.According to the students who took the class, it was a good way to learn about sex. Over one-quarter agreed that pornography was an accurate representation of how sexual interactions between boys and girls should work.In addition to learning how to have sex, students learned about sexting laws and the risks associated with revenge porn. Some of them said they wanted to try things they had seen on porn.Students said they were surprised to find that some of the porn they watched was not what most people think of when it comes to sex.
